Rangihoua

Rangihoua is the island's sacred mountain. Known for many years as Maori Hill, it dominates the landscape of the Onetangi Sports Park, once part of the extensive Rothschild Estate. These days the mountain is managed jointly by Auckland City Council and Ngati Paoa.
